The type of divorce you choose will determine how your divorce taxes you emotionally and financially. Didn’t know there were multiple types of divorce? Let’s dig into this a little bit.
Depending on your situation and the state in which you live, there are different types of divorce from which you can choose. I do not recommend mediation as a way to divorce a narcissist. Narcissists are cunning and manipulative, and they will use their toxic skills to sway the mediator. I would also be careful about going to court and using a judge or jury. Many narcissists like to fight and show out, and they may run over you inside the courtroom.
Here are the different types of divorce:
- Summary Divorce
- Uncontested Divorce
- Default Divorce
- Fault and No-Fault Divorce
- Mediated Divorce
- Collaborative Divorce
- Contested Divorce
- Divorce for Same Sex Couples
